2024 Annual Conference - Math Adventures!

Registration Information

Registration Costs
  • $150: Early Bird Individual Registration (closes March 31, 2024)
  • $175: Individual Registration (April 1 - June 1, 2024)
  • $200: Walk-in Individual Registration (after June 1, 2024)
  • $120: Primary Speaker Registration
  • $120: Full-time student/preservice teacher Registration
  • $130: Group Registration (5 or more teachers from the same school division) -- Contact info@vctm.org to register a group.

Registration includes:

  • One-year membership to VCTM. Current members will have their membership extended by one-year.
  • Buffet lunch on Monday (Gluten free and/or vegetarian options will be available)
  • Box lunches on Tuesday
  • Continental breakfast on Monday and Tuesday
  • Conference t-shirt

Conference Strands

Technology and Data Science: Teaching in the Age of AI

Sessions in this strand can provide the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to adapt and effectively integrate AI technologies into their teaching, use technology to explore data, or use technology tools to support teaching and learning of mathematics and data literacy.

Access and Equity: Teaching Diverse Learners

Sessions in this strand can focus on approaches for teaching a wide range of student demographics, including but not limited to students from diverse racial backgrounds, English language learners, students with disabilities, neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, and those facing economic disadvantages.

We are welcoming presentations from members of the Benjamin Banneker Association.

Implementing High-quality Instruction: Math Practices, New Standards

Sessions in this strand can include strategies for deepening students' mathematical knowledge by promoting higher-order thinking tasks, building connections, effective questioning techniques, productive struggle, implementing new Virginia Standards of Learning, and effective mathematical teaching practices.

Communicating the Importance of Mathematics: Cultivating Leadership and Community

Sessions in this strand can include raising awareness of the importance of mathematics and mathematics education, how to form partnerships that will advocate for quality mathematics education to be accessible to ALL students, and building the leadership capacity and empowerment of teachers.
